Classroom Students’ Evaluation
Additional insight into a student teacher’s progress can be obtained by using a student-centred anecdotal evaluation tool. This evaluation tool
- is completed in conjunction with a formative cooperating teacher evaluation;
- provides a differing perspective of the student teacher’s effectiveness;
- can involve the cooperating teacher’s assistance in the development and design of the evaluation tool, as well as in the analysis of the responses; and
- most commonly uses rating scales, but open-ended questions are suggested (for example, “What did you like best about _____________’s teaching?”).
